This timeline summarizes how the public AegisLayer reference architecture evolves through governed change.

Content Classification

  • Conceptual: governance and architecture model
  • Illustrative: diagrams, examples, and walkthroughs
  • Planned: roadmap items not yet completed
  • Implemented (repository scope): documentation, diagrams, SDK, and demo artifacts in this repository
  • Externally dependent: publication destinations requiring external credentials

Timeline

Foundation

  • Repository governance baseline published.
  • Core architecture, threat model, and governance pages established.
  • Initial ADR set accepted (ADR-0001 through ADR-0007).

Governance Maturation

  • RFC-first model for material architecture changes.
  • ADR/RFC lifecycle status model formalized.
  • Release governance and version metadata introduced.

Lifecycle Documentation Expansion

  • Identity, policy, approval, capability, runtime, evidence, monitoring, and incident lifecycles documented.
  • Threat-to-control traceability and conformance criteria expanded.

Reference Artifacts Expansion

  • Public conceptual reference SDK added.
  • Interactive static demonstration package added.
  • Structured research program and publication policy added.

Publication Alignment

  • GitHub remains canonical source.
  • GitHub Pages publishes official technical docs.
  • Hugging Face package and sync workflow export approved public artifacts.

RFC -> Review -> ADR -> Documentation/Diagram Sync -> Validation -> Release Governance
